Intent-Based Networking — Cisco DNA

Intent-Based Networking is network software that helps increase network availability and plan and put networks into operation.

Intent-Based Networking has 4 core functions and was first announced by Cisco.

Intent-Based Networking also features machine learning and network orchestration systems for network automation and for configuring the appropriate settings before actions are applied. This reduces complexity within the network and makes management easier.

IBNs receive rules as a series of commands, and are responsible for evaluating the rules and processing and arranging them into the system with the most appropriate configuration at the most appropriate time.

IBNs essentially have 4 operating principles:

  1. Translation and Validation
  2. Activation
  3. Network State
  4. Dynamic Optimization

Under this framework, Cisco has made the DNA Center application available and adapted it to work integrated with its existing product range.

Cisco DNA Center begins to manage the structure with automation by sharing the information it collects from the network infrastructure with other platforms.

In the event of any problem, it tries to solve the problem by leveraging its solution-generating mechanism thanks to its algorithms, and at the point where it cannot generate a solution, it informs the network admin and provides a report.

For detailed information, you can contact us to ask your questions and see the structure in demo and PoC environments.
